On Tuesday 8th June, Year 4, 5 and 6 went bellboating on the River Severn. We set off from Upton Marina and paddled upstream towards Hanley Castle, stopping halfway in the shade for a snack on the boat. We then continued paddling until lunchtime. In the afternoon, having built up our confidence, we were able to paddle standing up and some children even challenged themselves with the “catwalk” walking up and down the middle of the boat. We were so lucky with the weather and spotting wildlife including signets and ducklings. It was a pleasure to take all the children on this trip and they represented the school brilliantly.
